A Moment with Medley: Esmio Australia
At Medley we love getting to know other Aussie brands doing amazing things – and our latest obsession is Esmio.
Founded and run by four women, Esmio is revolutionising the mani game with at home gel polishes and kits that give salon-worthy results. Their first-of-its kind one-step gel makes a home mani super effortless (big news for those of us who love to swap our nail colours as often as our ring stacks). Their formulas are also vegan, cruelty-free, and 10 free.

Fresh from putting the final polish on runway looks for Australian Fashion Week, we spoke to the four founders of Esmio Australia: Saryne Lagudi, Rochele Hanna Politis, Jazmin Hanna Oluklu, and Nicolle Khattar-Elrassy, to learn more about their brand, their nail colours of the moment, and their Medley must-haves.
Medley: We would love to get to know your story a little more, can you tell us about you and your career journey?
Rochele: Each of us has had different jobs in the past, we also had a few of our own businesses before Esmio so we each have a lot of different strengths in business. Naturally we have always gravitated towards working for ourselves as most of our relatives have done that, so when we were able to do it, it was really a no brainer!
Medley: Can you share the story behind how Esmio was created and what inspired you to delve into the industry?
Saryne:The concept of Esmio was created mid-2019 and after over a year of product testing, we finally launched Esmio in December of 2020- it was our COVID baby. Before creating the concept we had always loved doing our nails together after Nicolle influenced us to stop going to the nail salon and start doing them at home. The main reason for creating Esmio was because we could never find all the items we needed for our nail kits. One day we had the lightbulb moment that we needed to create a brand that brought together all the items that we needed! And Esmio was born!
Medley: As you know, running a small business requires a lot of dedication, what drives you to stay motivated and continue growing your brand?
Jazmin:Our customers! We have created such an amazing community, we love our daily chats with everyone on our TikTok live. They really make it easier to get out of bed in the morning!
Medley: What is your favourite way to reset your energy after a particularly busy or challenging day?
Rochele: Cooking with my husband always helps me relax.
Saryne: I love watching Real Housewives
Jazmin: Reading a good book.
Nicolle: Unwinding by watching Friends.
Medley: What is your go-to gel polish shade right now?
Medley: How do you like to style jewellery back with your Esmio gel polishes?
Nicolle:I always like to say, your accessories and nails make your look! If you are going for an understated look with nude or light pink on the nails, the minimal vibe is the way to go. However if you are going full glam with a bright red or orange on the nails, I suggest going all out with the stacking!
Medley: Lastly, what Medley pieces are on your wish list?
Nicolle: I love these fine diamond huggies as they can be worn as everyday earrings that you never have to take off.
Rochele: I am obsessed with this stunning helix stud! I find helix piercings so beautiful with simple lobe stacks.
