Fashion Revolution Week

‘Fashion Revolution Week’ runs every year and was born out of the horrific disaster of Rana Plaza collapse in April 2013. Fashion Rev is considered one of the world’s largest fashion activism movements, running for seven days it prompts the retail industry (and it’s consumers) to reflect on their choices and take action.   This movement shines an important light on the production industry and helps consumers and buyers contribute towards a unified supply chain that supports social and environmental justice for all.

At Medley, we’re proud to work with an array of global jewellery suppliers to offer you high quality, modern pieces, designed for longevity – we don’t want Medley to be tossed away after a single season.

We work with ethically sourced natural diamonds as well as laboratory-grown diamonds; and the majority of our 10k gold products are made with certified conflict-free gold (we plan for 100% by 2025). We’ve also recently introduced a number of products crafted with recycled gold and silver, and we’re constantly working to provide an even greater level of responsibility and sustainability in our jewellery, so you can feel even more amazing when you wear your Medley pieces.

In light of Fashion Revolution week we sat down with one of our wonderful suppliers, to talk all things work, jewellery and the industry. Ready to hear from some of the women that help make our pieces?

A moment with Nancy:

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got into the jewellery industry?

After my graduation, I was working for a Luxury Car company, where I spent sometime gaining valuable experience. Encouraged by my aunt, who was working in a jewellery company. I embraced the opportunity to transition into this new field. Starting from scratch, I delved into the intricacies of diamond jewellery production, gaining invaluable insights along the way. This transition not only expanded my skill set but also offered a rich learning experience as I navigated the nuances of marketing in the jewellery sector.

What does your job entail?

With 17 years of dedicated work experience in the jewellery industry, I have honed my expertise in various aspects of jewellery production, pricing strategies, marketing, and sales techniques.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is immersing myself in market strategy and research. This aspect of my role allows me to immerse myself in the ever-evolving landscape of the jewellery industry, uncovering emerging trends, identifying new opportunities, and understanding shifting consumer preference.

What should the people who wear the jewellery you make know about you?

Each piece we create is infused with meticulous craftmanship, ensuring elegance and lasting value for those who wear it. So, invest in jewellery and treat yourself. 🙂
